The Nové Lauby project revitalized the center of Ostrava and significantly expanded the city's housing stock. This architecturally unique building with pleasant common areas offer the final 13 modern apartments with cleverly designed one-bedroom to three-bedroom units.

"Large-format windows with wooden frames ensure both plenty of daylight and views of Masaryk Square, Muzejní Street, and a landscaped atrium full of trees and greenery,” says Eva Grusová, senior property consultant at Svoboda & Williams. "The floor areas of most of the available apartments will be extended by a balcony or loggia with far-reaching views,” Grusová adds.

Nové Lauby, consisting of five connected buildings forming a traditional city block, blends seamlessly with the surrounding urban development. The new five-story building topped with a roof garden harmoniously filled in a formerly empty lot created in the 1960s between Velká, Muzejní, Pivovarská, and Dlouhá streets in the center of Ostrava. There will be a cafe on the entrance level, and parking spaces and cellars for residents on the underground floor.

The project is the brainchild of Sdružení BBB Nové Lauby, the architects from the znamení čtyř studio, and the city of Ostrava. The result is a building with a unique style that combines rental and private ownership housing. Complementing the urban composition of the city center, it winningly adds to its future social development.

Ostrava is currently living through a renaissance. It's a place where new projects are being created, culture is blossoming, and the public space is becoming more interesting. Thanks to the architect Josef Pleskot, the Tri-Halí Karolina or Dolní Vítkovice complexes have already come to life with the popular Colours of Ostrava festival. These revitalized industrial sites will soon be joined by new city landmarks: a concert hall designed by Steven Holl and the Ostrava Tower skyscraper, designed by the architectural duo CHYBIK + KRISTOF, which will become the tallest building in the country.
