Since the summer of 2016, Šaldova Street in Prague-Karlín has been livened up by a new, charming cultural hub – a showroom of designer furniture and accessories from the hand of Vladan Běhal.

This Czech designer and architect, whose second home is Italy, has been dedicated to his brand Vladan Běhal Design since 2002. He creates unique pieces of designer furniture and interior accessories that are characterized by typical shape brevity, basic, geometrical lines and a timeless elegance based on those features. Design work by Vladan Běhal is dominated by steel, usually complemented with a warmer, natural material, such as solid wood. The top-quality workmanship, alongside with minimalistic and industrial design, makes all the products from Vladan Běhal's brand utterly timeless and appreciable for the next 5, 10 or even 20 years. Spending his childhood and part of his teens in his father's workshop, Vladan became familiar with steel, its characteristics and usage pretty early and was able to create his first designer piece early as well. During the following years, Vladan devoted himself to studying fine arts, sculpture and design both in the Czech Republic and Italy, which continues to be an inspiration for him.
