Detsky ostrov (Children's Island)

Prague features quite a few islands, one of which is the Detsky ostrov (Children’s Island) located next to the Janackovo nabrezi embankment and easily accessible from Arbesovo Square. Detsky ostrov offers many sports and entertainment opportunities for both children and adults alike.

Located on Detsky Island is a guarded children’s playground, perfect for preschoolers as well as younger children, a court with artificial grass for ball games, a tennis court with an artificial ground and spaces for petanque and skateboarding. Mainly preschoolers are sure to appreciate the Detsky Island modernly equipped playground that is complete with a slide, swings, climbing structures and much more. Older children might want to use the opportunity to play collective sports such as soccer, basketball or volleyball.

Among the advantages of the Detsky ostrov complex is the presence of a guard, a drinking water source as well as on-site toilets. The whole complex is open from April to October between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. and November to March from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Your four-legged friends should stay at home since they are forbidden to enter the complex.
