The still-unfamiliar term “strollering” refers to an increasingly popular outdoor fitness program designated for mothers with strollers in the Czech Republic.
The idea of strollering was born when fitness instructor and mother Edita Berková was considering how to combine time spent outside in the fresh air with her own activities as a fitness instructor and mother. The fitness program of strollering is essentially the combination of a walk out of doors with a stroller, and toning and exercise techniques taken from the Pilates method. Lessons are specially-designed for mothers after the postnatal period and are led by trained instructors. Therefore, mothers on maternity leave will not need to arrange any babysitting but they can still do something for themselves. It is easy to lose any superfluous weight leftover from pregnancy while toning problematic body areas through strollering, while baby can watch from the comfort and safety of its own stroller or blanket. Strollering can take the form of fast walking, or involve the basics of in-line skating next to parked strollers, or even dance with strollers – a technique sure to entertain the little ones. You can even learn the basics of Spanish conversation while strollering. Strollering in Prague takes place in many locations, and further details are available on the strollering website below. For any strollering lesson it is necessary to make a reservation in advance.
Do something for yourself and enjoy a somewhat different walk in the neighborhood park with your baby!
