If you are learning German and would like to improve your German skills in an easy and fun way, or you are just looking for access to German culture in Prague, visit the Prague Goethe-Institut library. This library offers a wide selection of books and other media in German and Czech, whose main topics are German culture and present-day Germany.

The Goethe-Institut is an organization whose branches are located in many countries around the world and who aims at being a gate to German culture and language. The Prague Goethe-Institut branch is located at Masarykovo nabrezi and apart from library services it also offers German language courses, exhibitions, film projections and other cultural and educational events.

The Goethe-Institut library is open from Monday - Saturday (varying hours - please see their website for info) and offers German-language fiction, literature of fact concerning German culture and society, German newspapers and magazines, CDs of German music (rock, pop, jazz as well as classical music), DVDs with German movies, audiobooks and much more. In order to be able to use the library services all you need is a reader’s pass which can be obtained at a fee of 100 CZK and is valid for six months.​
