Situated in Prague 4 and surrounded by residential housing, businesses and the Roztyly metro station is the lush Kunratice Forest. This dense forest, which covers a vast amount of land, is far far away from the hustle and bustle of city life in Prague. The forest features lovely hiking trails that are surrounded by ancient trees, some of which are protected national trees. Furthermore the forest also features ruins of a once stately home, which is where King Vaclav IV died. In Kunratice Forest you will also find a winding stream, a large lake romantically titled Swan Lake, numerous resting areas complete with shelters, benches and playgrounds, lookout points and much more. Furthermore situated in the forest are two lovely restaurants with outdoor and indoor seating that serve delicious Czech cuisine and thirst quenching beer.
