Havlíčkovy Sady is a large park also known as Gröbovka that is located approximately on the border area between Vinohrady, Vršovice and Nusle and has been going through an extensive reconstruction in the last decade, thanks to which it will regain the fame it had in the eyes of Prague citizens at the end of the nineteenth and beginning of the twentieth century.
The mastermind behind Havlíčkovy Sady was the Prague entrepreneur Moritz Gröbe who had the park built around his monumental Neo-Renaissance villa (today known as Gröbe villa and recently completely renovated). Havlíčkovy Sady is an English style park with a romantic hilly landscape that will certainly charm you with its meandering sidewalks and majestic trees of all species.
Besides natural beauty this Prague park also boasts of many architectural monuments such as a large vineyard, a vineyard gazebo with an impressive view Prague, a setting that became a favorite place for weddings after its reconstruction, or the famous grotto, an artificial cave with a restaurant that is currently under reconstruction. Lovers of good wine will also certainly appreciate the recently opened wine bar in the upper part of the park offering quality wine from the local vineyard every Friday and Saturday.
