The Minaret Theater (Divadlo Minaret) has been bringing joy to the world of adults and children alike for many years now.
The Prague-based Minaret Theater, which was founded in 1994, currently has twelve fairy tales for children over the age of 3 years in its repertoire. The Minaret Theater ensemble likes to perform fun-loving and humorous plays with happy endings in which good always triumphs over evil. All staged plays have a strong musical component and spectators can hear songs by Czech musicians such as Petr Malásek, Vladimír Franz, and Jarek Nohavica. The actors and actresses from the Minaret Theater are not afraid of more sophisticated and less common topics, such as Czech classical music or biblical themes. The Minaret Theater troupe performs regularly at Reduta, as well as at other Prague theaters (Divadlo U Hasičů, Divadlo Bez Zábradlí, etc.), and takes part in festivals as well as putting in guest performances at theaters in Czech and Moravian towns outside of Prague. Members of the ensemble also give classes on acting for children and teenagers.
Theater tickets can be reserved via telephone or purchased one hour before the beginning of a performance with discounts available for families.
