The aim of the Environmental Education Center of the Capital City of Prague, Toulcův Dvůr, is to offer activities and experiences to children and their parents providing them with the chance to develop a deep and positive relationship with nature.
Set amidst a sea of prefabricated residential buildings, Toulcův Dvůr has a vast natural green area where most of its activities take place. One of the most interesting features of Toulcův Dvůr is a petting farm where children can see pigs, horses, and a cow named Jitka. In the small zoo area they can watch small animals, such as guinea pigs, hamsters, reptiles, and insects which are all taken care of by children from local activity clubs. Among the many goings-on at Toulcův Dvůr, you will find activity groups and clubs, workshops and outings to the farm, miscellaneous free time activities and celebrations with traditional customs, concerts, lectures, film screenings and more. Visitors also have the possibility of staying temporarily at the local hostel, or getting something tasty from the local cafeteria which serves meals made from high-quality fresh ingredients and prepared according to the principles of healthy nutrition. Toulcův Dvůr is also unique thanks to the historically-protected complex of buildings dating back to the Middle Ages.
If you want your children to have a good ecological awareness even from a very young age and to treat animals and the environment with respect, take them to any of the many events held at Toulcův Dvůr.
