National Marionette Theater

Since 1991, the National Marionette Theater has enjoyed great success, largely thanks to its marionette version of Don Giovanni which boasts over 4,500 performances.

Since the beginning of the 1990s the National Marionette Theater has staged more than 20 premieres of traditional marionette performances for children and adults. In its repertoire you can find world-renowned masterpieces – besides the above-mentioned Don Giovanni, you will find performances such as The Magic Flute and The Magic Theater of the Baroque World. The National Marionette Theater also hosts very interesting special events for individuals, companies and families, during which you can create your own marionette or even a whole marionette theater under the supervision of a visual artist. You even have the possibility to become a puppeteer in the Don Giovanni opera for a while, and learn about the puppet production as well as the operational technique of the puppets.
