Andílek Family Center

The Andílek Family Center in Prague's Smíchov district was established to support families with small children. In harmony with the Montessori system of education, children are considered to be in an educational partnership with adults and are respected regarding their decisions and ability to communicate.

The Andílek Family Center offers educational courses and seminars, Montessori educational activities, holds cultural and educational events for general public, provides education for preschool children from 3 to 6 years and daycare for children up to 3 years. At the Andílek Family Center children can attend ceramics classes which provide plenty of fun while supporting the development of spontaneous creativity, and whole families can participate in Montessori workshops together after the completion of an introductory lecture for parents. Adults can also attend courses in basic Montessori pedagogy as well as various other lectures and seminars.

The Andílek Family Center also operates the Andílek Preschool, which integrates Montessori methods into its curriculum, and whose aim is to educate children between 3 and 6 years of age for an affordable price. At the Andílek Preschool, great emphasis is put on the development of children's self-reliance and responsibility. Children also learn to act with respect towards nature and are educated in a secure environment without mutual comparison and competition.
