The Kbely Aviation Museum, which maps the development of Czechoslovak and Czech aviation, was first opened for the public in 1968 and was a big success. Back then visitors could admire 62 planes acquired from the military's Air Force, from various museums or aero clubs.

The museum is located in four hangars at the Kbely Airport. As the only museum in the world, the Kbely Aviation Museum can boast both types of single engine multirole fighters used in World War II. Today you can see a total of 124 planes in the museum. Besides Czechoslovak aircraft, mainly military, the museum also features selected types of important airplanes from abroad, as well as aircraft engines, munitions, uniforms, etc.. The tradition of presenting new and interesting exhibits, including a display of their operation, is held on National Aviation Day as well as during the annual museum opening ceremony, where you can see the machines in action. The Kbely Aviation Museum definitely won't let the plane enthusiasts down. The museum is open only during the warmer months from May until October.
