The Stone Bell House is situated in the city center of Prague on the world famous Old Town Square and is one of the city’s oldest structures. It hosts temporary exhibitions of modern and contemporary art and is operated by City Gallery Prague.
The Stone Bell House dates back to the second half of the 13th century. The Gothic façade was not discovered though until the 1970s and 80s when extensive renovations of the 19th century neo Baroque façade uncovered the gorgeous Gothic era style.
After the Gothic façade was meticulously renovated City Gallery Prague started using the space for temporary modern and contemporary art exhibitions alongside contemporary music concerts. The Stone Bell House gallery features a gift shop and a small café. The name of the house comes from a sign that was placed at the corner of the building in the 16th century. If you wish to experience modern and contemporary art in Prague, do not miss the Stone Bell House where you can witness a gorgeous Gothic building and interesting artwork.
